In You

"And I'll trust in You
The clouds may roll in
And cover the sky's blue
There may be temptation and sins

But I'll close my eyes
I'll grind my teeth
Won't look at the black skies
Or stony ground beneath"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "In You"

Good Morning, Jesus

"Here on my knees
The stars above
Shining in through my window
Reflecting Your love
The clouds reflecting Your majesty
And Your warm embrace
Let's me know You're here
Shows Your sweet grace
And says, 'Sister, you're safe.'"

WITHIN: Never Alone

"There was me and then the truth inside
I knew that it didn't pay to try and hide
For He was there and He always knew
And I tried but none of us can stay true
He would hold me close as I'd cry
When I felt as if I'd die

And I'll never bear the pain alone
For I know I am His own
Though the darkness at times surrounds me
For perfect is something I can't be
And the pain will often be there
Sometimes more than I can bear"

From my poem, "Within: Never Alone"

Our Talks

"I say yes and you say no
You say we should stay
I say we should go

I say there is a God
That loves you very much
And you say it's all a façade

You ask me about right
And why I think you're wrong
I try to show you the light

He's everything to me
You don't understand why
I don't know why you can't see"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "Our Talks"

The Crown

"Now and again
I think of the sin
That made Him die
For you and I
And I see the tears
And I smell the fear
Taste the blood
Feel the mud"

~Grace Marshall

The Rain Falls Down

"The rain falls down
Masking my tears
I stand unmoving
Hiding the fears

Vines entangling my soul
Whips crushing my spirit
Words drowning out Your voice
So I cannot hear it

The fire consuming me
My eyes burn
The thoughts bombarding me
My head churns"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "The Rain Falls Down"

Loving You

"No need to fear
The unknown
Life or death

You became saved
In the night
You found light

I drove over
To see you
Just to pray

You had wondered
Now you know
Why I'm me

It is Jesus
Loving Me
That guides me

Thank you for this
I prayed
You'd see Him

And now you have
Thank Jesus
You can too

Can't you feel it
He's yours now
A great friend

He'll be with you
Through your life
Loving You"

Look To The Cross

"Where are we headed?
What route are we taking?
Where have our footsteps treaded?
What future are we making?

God is taken out of the school
Christianity is mocked and scorned
As His tears fall in large pools
And His heart is torn"

~Grace Marshall

Cross of Red

"Thorns of red
Drops of crimson
Covering His head

Robes of pain
Stripes of agony
Jesus is His name

Trail of life
Vermillion streams
From His strife

His heart was torn
His arms stretched out
For those who mourn"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "Cross of Red"

Crimson Fountain

"Crosses, crosses
Broken, wooden crosses
Mangled, torn bodies
Sorrowful, agonizing hearts

Mercy and grace
Flowing in ruby streams
Down a scarlet cross
Forgiveness in the fountain"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "Crimson Fountain"

"Found Love"

"It took a long time
For me to finally see
It doesn't matter what I've done
His blood covers me"

From "The Prayer of His Will"

"Oh God, give me a hunger
To reach lost souls
To bring them to You
So You can make them whole

Teach me not to worry about my flesh
To seek not what I will drink or eat
For the righteous shall not beg for bread
Help me not to succumb to defeat"

~Grace Marshall
From my Christian Poem, "The Prayer of His Will"

From "Thank You For Teaching Me"

"Help me understand Your word
And help me to live right
Help me not walk in darkness
But to always walk in light

Give me the fruits of a Godly life
By teaching me how to live
Convict me of selfishness
And teach me how to give"

~Grace Marshall
From my poem, "Thank You For Teaching Me"
